Jazz is unifying all tones, languages and notes of the world and musicians like Mourad give life to it a rhythm. The Power Trio like their band name, will perform at The Turkish Japanese Foundation concert hall. We appreciate the support of Institut Francais.
Mourad Benhammou and his band will be in Ankara for the first time and the festival is happy to host the group. Mourad Benhammou was born in Paris in 1969. He discovered the drums at age 15 and became a self-taught drummer. In one of his released interviews Mourad says that “I feel I have a mission and a duty as a torch-bearer. I consider being a musician is about transmitting the memory of the music, its technique and style as well as the principles of unspoken tradition. Everything that makes the music it not just notes but is an art of living.”
