Well-known classical guitar virtuoso Ahmet Kanneci will deliver a jazz performance for the first time in his musical career for the 16th International Ankara Jazz Festival. Author and poet Tolga Suyolcuoğlu composed the texts of this narrative concert. The theme of the performance will be life, death and liberty. Pınar Gürer, producer and presenter of the radio show Kupa Kızı, is the narrator, Özlem Oktar Varoğlu is the art director of the program. From Gershwin to Piazzolla; from Shoctakovich to Brubeck, an extensive selection will be presented in this special performance. Guitarist Özcan Dal will play with Kanneci in this concert.
Ahmet Kanneci was born in 1957. Soon after he graduated from METU-Faculty of Architeture, he earned scholarship from Spain and attended Conservatorio Superior de Música Óscar Esplá de Alicante. Following this, Kanneci has graduated ranking first in class from University of Perpignan, France. He established guitar departments in four different universities and conservatories in Turkey. Accomplished guitarist had won many awards and has released BMG and Sony Classical labeled albums.
