As we have decided to go with the theme “Music of the 21st Century is Jazz”, one of the first names came to our minds was Aydın Esen. He has carried Jazz to its future. He is joining the festival this time with dear Randy Esen.
Aydın Esen was born in 1962 in Turkey. Esen plays keyboards and electronics and he is a great composer. Esen is a talented pianist with a style, combining his Turkish heritage with post bop jazz. Esen was exposed to music from the beginning of his life. Esen first came to the United States when he was awarded a four-year scholarship to Berklee College of Music where he reportedly completed all of his classes within one year. Jazztime Magazine interviews with Chick Corea in August 2000, asked him “Who is the world’s best pianist?” Chick Corea answered “Most probably you all didn’t know but he is from Turkey and name is Aydın Esen.”
