Odwalla invites you to a visual and audial feast. Incredible musicians, a big acoustic impact and the enormous variety of instruments. The group is led by Massimo Barbiero and Matteo Cigna with marimba and vibes and they outline iterative themes of African origin. In the front line African drummers create an extraordinary and strong impact with their congas, tom toms and other acoustic and beating objects. Their movements mix with the Italians' rhythms and all this energy is complemented with flaming dance figures of the African dancers. The vigorous scene that group creates produces a rich, impressive and lyrical concert. We would like to thank ITALIAN CULTURAL CENTER and the sponsors of the festival for this concert.
Odwalla, formed by Massimo Barbiero in 1989, has 7 albums and 3 DVDs that have received high grades from European, American and Japanese critics. It has given numerous concerts until now in European festivals and clubs with many famous names like Mino Cinelu and Billy Cobham.
Massimo Barbiero, is also the leader of Enten Eller, contemporary Jazz project oriented towards the rhythmic and timbric research. It should also be noted that there four published books on Barbiero and Odwalla's works that can be qualified as benchmarks.
