A Capella Boğaziçi says 'Our aim is to carve an original niche for ourselves in the global vocal music arena as inspired by jazz, Anatolian, Balkan music, classical and popular music.' We are going to host this special group as one of the best examples of polyphonic jazz music in Turkey. In this festival, you should listen to the jazz standards also from them. We appreciate the support of Samm's Bistro.
A Capella Boğaziçi was founded in 2002 by A. Seren Akyoldaş, Ezgi Arslan, Kaan Bayır, Ali Göktürk and Recep Gül who were all members of Bogaziçi University Music Society. The group drew the attention of Kerem Görsev with the demo recording they made for the Young Jazz project of the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts and this jazz master became the producer of the first a cappella jazz album of Turkey. In the same year the group was featured in the album of the 12th International Istanbul Jazz Festival
In their Eurasian Tales project A Capella Boğaziçi renders compositions of Fazıl Say with a capella arrangements of Recep Güland. They brought the project with a wide audience with their concerts in 2012 Korofest, 13th Antalya Piano Festival Opening Party, İzmir AASM, 15th Aksanat Jazz Festival, 3rd International Milas Festival, Bologna, Berlin, and Florence.
