Nihat Akmehmet was interested in photography as a viewer since the 1970s. As he had been following photography exhibitions and modern artists in Turkey and abroad, he was dwelling upon Turkish and world photography history. He believes that photography is a young and dynamic art that continuously evolves in line with the technical and cultural developments.

The 56 year-old artist takes photographs, opens exhibitions, participates in group exhibitions, makes slide shows and digital presentations. His adventure that began with nature and landscape photography continued with architectural photography due to his occupation. Since last 10 years, he mostly photographed stage arts, like bale, modern dance, opera, Latin dance, and concerts. Akmehmet, who also participates in portrait photography workshops continues his works in this field and researches on the place of photography in art and visual communication.

The artist, who has a wide photography archive, has prepared an exhibition with the photographs he took in Ankara Jazz Festivals.
