Kamil Erdem with his unique interpretation, technique, ascendance and convenience, meets the French accordion master Rene Sopa in the 13th International Ankara Jazz Festival. Erdem, who interprets jazz by blending traditional Anatolian, Middle Eastern, Balkan melodies in his own way, is going to meet Sopa's accordion and so there will be a music feast that you should never miss.

KAMIL ERDEM BIOGRAPHY

Erdem founded the group Asiaminorin 1990, which has given him access to international music scene for more than 10 years. Asiaminor toured several times in Europe and in the US and released three albums, "Along the Street" (1991), "Longa Nova" (1996), "Cat's Dream" (1997). In 2001 Kamil Erdem released his solo album "A Tale of Bass" where his own impression of different countries' traditional music have been transformed into compositions for solo bass. In 2003 he conducted a master class in NY Bass Collective on solo bass playing techniques. Kamil Erdem has an international career as a teacher. He is a faculty member in Yıldız Teknik University in Istanbul, Department of Music and Performing Arts.
